At least three people have died and 38 have been injured after protests erupted over the arrest of Ugandan presidential candidate Bobi Wine.

Footage filmed on November 18 in Kampala shows protesters blocking a road and burning tires.

Wine, a pop star-turned-politician, said he had been arrested in Luuka in a tweet on Wednesday.

The tweet read: "Police under the command of Mwesigwa Frank of counter-terrorism police has violently broken into Hon Kyagulanyi's car and arrested him at Luuka District headquarter grounds."
