A painter from Boston showcases how artists are able to mix multiple shades to match the colour of everyday objects.

Footage from November 10 shows the artists Fritz Proctor matching colour with different pastries, including a doughnut, a loaf of bread among others.

Proctor has garnered a large following on TikTok with just under 600,000 followers and over 8,000,000 likes.

He said: "One day as I was mixing a pile of paint my wife mentioned that it was therapeutic to watch.

"I then began making videos on TikTok to share some of this therapeutic material.

"From there, the videos went viral and it has become part of my artistic practice to produce and share these videos on a regular basis."

Fritz is a full time painter from Boston, USA. He creates large paintings that merge abstraction and representation. In his studio process he began mixing colors to match objects; he started this to create a complexity in his painting’s color. He said: "Then one day as I was mixing a pile of paint my wife mentioned that it was therapeutic to watch. I then began making videos on TikTok to share some of this therapeutic material. From there, the videos went viral and it has become part of my artistic practice to produce and share these videos on a regular basis."
