On a scorchingly hot day in Kruger National Park, South Africa, these young male elephants enjoy dunking one another's head in the watering hole on November 19.

It was a scorching hot day in the Kruger National Park and I decided to head out alone in the middle of the day to a nearby waterhole. The waterhole normally attracts a variety of wildlife species during the midday heat. On my arrival I was pleased to find a small herd of elephants right in the middle of the waterhole, busy swimming and having the time of their lives.
When elephants get into the water you can be sure that it would be a very entertaining event to watch. I noticed one bull elephant was standing with his front legs on something and soon realised he was standing on top of one of his brother’s heads that was under the water. Just like kids in a swimming pool, these bull elephants had so much playfulness in them. The elephant bull that got dunked got his chance soon after, pushing his brother over onto his side in the water before dunking his head under the water using his front feet. This was hilarious to watch and was amazed by how long they would keep each other’s heads under the water.
