Huge fire broke out at a textile shop during the wee hours in Navapath Gana street of Madurai district in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The videos shows, massive fire and huge cloud of smoke emitting from the textile shop that caught fire.

The firefighters at the spot trying to extinguish the fire and two of the firefighters being rescued from the fire accident spot after getting trapped as the building collapsed.

Other firefighters endlessly fighting to douse the fire at the clothing shop.

Earthmover is used to clear the path for the firefighters to move inside and douse the fire.

The reports stated, that on getting the information of the fire accident the fire department officials from Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple locality and Anuppanadi stations rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire.

During the rescue operation firefighters Krishnamurthy (31), Sivarajan (34), Kalyana Kumar (30), and Chinnakaruppu (30) got trapped under the rubble while trying to douse the fire off.

Unfortunately, Krishnamurthy and Sivarajan lost there lives in the operation due to collapsing of the building during the fire accident.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswami has assured the a government work and financial assistance to the family members of the deceased.

Both the firefighters had won awards for their endless service to the society in the past.
