This is the terrifying moment a wild snake came crawling through an office light.

Viboon Petchthanapong, 32, was in his office when he heard a strange sound above his head in Bangkok, Thailand.

He stood up and inspected the light socket when suddenly the 3ft-long golden tree snake came hanging down from the socket.

Footage from Wednesday (November 18) morning shows the moment when the snake dropped from the light socket as Viboon fled the room in panic.

He contacted the rescue team to come and take care of the snake and told them he had been hearing the sound for over a month but thought it was a mouse.

Viboon, a commercial photographer, said: “I had been hearing a strange sound on the ceiling for a few days but never thought it would be a snake.

''Fortunately, it didn't fall on my head while I was working.''

Viboon said that he was afraid he could be bitten when he saw the snake - so he ran outside and slammed the door shut.

He said: ''When I realized that the snake was venomous I felt blessed that I escaped or otherwise I could have been injured.''

Golden tree snakes, or chrysopelea ornata, eat lizards, rodents and other small creatures. They can bite humans but the venom is mild.
