Lead is a poison. That's why we banned it in petrol and in paints - now it is time to ban it in shotgun cartridges. Tomorrow MEPs vote on whether to ban use of lead shot in wetlands... but seriously, it needs to be banned from use in shotgun cartridges anywhere - whether aimed at animals of clay pigeons, tonne of lead pellets end up in our countryside every year, poisoning wildlife and everyone who eats game meat that has been shot with lead... not just the pellets you can see but also the micro-particles you and your kids unwittingly ingest. Please urge your elected representatives to vote for the ban. Thank you!
