This is a bizarre moment shrews moved together nose-to-tail making a train to deceive predators in Loei, northern Thailand.

Footage shows the mother shrew heading the line and each baby shrew bites on the base of their tail belonging to the shrew in front of it. With the mother shrew on the lead, the baby shrew forms a train moving in unison.

The 'furry caravan' is done out of instinct to deceive predators into seeing a creature that is bigger and more powerful than it actually is.

Shrews are one of the world's six smallest mammals and will typically form 'caravans' when they are disturbed. The mother would lead the line to bring the young ones to safety.
