This was the moment passengers survived after being flung out of a car involved in a high-speed crash in southern India.

All the seven men in the car, including the driver, survived with minor injuries after the mishap near Devakottai on November 14.

Sources in Devakottai police said six friends had gone to attend a birthday party at Mottayanvayal village and were driving back.

“They were all drunk and none were wearing seat belts,” a police official said.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver tried to avoid a ditch on the road. As he was over speeding, the car flew in the air and overturned.

Devakottai police registered a case and accessed CCTV footage from a house in Unchanai village. A dog, which was tied to a tree in front of the house, also had a narrow escape.
