Residents attempting to save cliff homes served second stop notice by council in Kent, UK
Residents attempting to save their cliff side homes from falling into the sea at Surf Crescent, Eastchurch, by depositing large amounts of soil and clay into a 'sink hole' have been served a second order to stop work by Swale Borough Council. They have also been given 56 days to remove all of the clay & soil deposited by a contractor employed by the local residents action group.
Earlier this year a property aptly named 'Cliffhanger' went over the edge, with neighbouring residents now in a race against time to try to save their properties.
Footage of the area this afternoon (November 24), with a brief clip at the end of new caravans for sale at Eastchurch Holiday Centre which is a large holiday site which lies around 1/2 km behind the cliff edge.
