This is the eye-watering moment rescuers cut through a steel ring stuck on a woman's finger.

Supasinee Khansirichai, 35, called the emergency services after her finger swelled from the tight ring she had been trying to remove in Kamphaeng Phet, central Thailand on November 21.

When the rescuers arrived, they immediately used pliers trying to widen the ring without success. They decided to cut away the ring by using a metal grinder.

They began the process by placing a spoon between the woman's skin and the accessory.

Footage shows one of the rescue volunteers carefully using the cutting tool on the ring while his colleague poured water on it to reduce the heat created by metal to metal friction.

The woman's fingers had already swollen up from the tight ring, but she remained calm and let the rescuers do their job. Soon after, the ring was finally cut out and removed from her finger.

Speaking after, the relieved woman said she had worn the ring for years and when she wanted to take it off she found it was stuck.

She said: “I have worn this ring for many years. But when I wanted to take it off I found it was stuck. I tried for some time until I decided to give up and call the rescuers.”
