This is the heartwarming moment a kitten trapped in a moving car's engine was saved after a heroic deliveryman heard her crying for help.

Suwan Lubsaeng, 25, was waiting at traffic lights when he noticed strange noises from the car beside him in Krabi, southern Thailand on Monday morning (November 23).

The lights had already turned green but the determined rider caught up with the car and alerted the driver about the sound.

Confused motorist Sirintip Sawasdee, 49, quickly pulled over onto the verge to check what had happened.

Together, they opened the car bonnet and were surprised when the crying became louder.

They called the local rescue team to help them remove the cat that had been stuck inside the engine.

One of the rescuers lured the little creature out and pulled it out when it appeared within reach.

The frightened feline was given some food and water before the woman took it home to adopt.

Sirintip said she felt relieved that she had not killed the kitten and believed it was a sign of luck.

She said: "I want to thank the rider who told me about the cat. I also want to thank the rescue team for saving the poor kitten. I believe this is a lucky day so I will adopt the cat and take care of her.''
