Police officers and journalists gathered outside Diego Maradona's residence after it was announced the football legend had died of a heart attack.

Footage filmed in Tigre, an Argentinean town north of the city of Buenos Aires, shows a large crowd of cameramen behind a police line as well as several police vehicles.

Diego Maradona's body was later removed from the residence for an autopsy.

Diego Armando Maradona died this Wednesday after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest in the San Andrés neighborhood, in the Buenos Aires province of Tigre, where he had settled days ago after the operation on his head to which he was subjected for a subdural hematoma.

Maradona decompensated while he was sleeping and around 11:30, when they went to wake him up, he no longer reacted to resuscitation attempts, the San Isidro Attorney General's Office indicated based on the testimonies taken in his environment. The same source explained that the last time they saw him alive was at 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
