Roosters engage in a vicious fight to death, as local people kneel and pray, and passing monks collect alms.
In this snapshot of rural life in a small Thai village, two rooster are in fierce combat. The horrified owner of the black and losing rooster, is powerless do intervene as she is waiting on the Monks to give them alms. There is blood on both chickens at this stage, and she cannot offer food to the monks with blood on her hands. When the last monk leaves, she rushes to save her rooster by breaking up the fight and taking it home. The victorious rooster gives a loud and proud message to world, and proclaims himself the champion.
