A pet dog and a rescued otter have become best friends after being adopted on a farm.

Pet owner Preecha Suksom, 47, takes care of the animals in his rubber plantation in Surat Thani province, Thailand.

Preecha raised the nine-month-old female dog Preecha since it was a puppy. A few months later he was driving his tractor through fields when he saw the newborn otter alone with its eyes still closed.

He cared for the otter, named Nim, feeding it with milk until it was able to eat by itself and became a healthy animal eight months later.

The dog and the otter grew up together in the plantation playing and sleeping together like siblings.

The unusual friendship has attracted attention from locals who sometimes visit the farm just to watch the animals play.

Proud pet owner Preecha said: "They never quarrelled even though they are species of animals. They are close friends.

"They like to run, tease each other, and hide. When I am tired, we slept together all the time."
