An incredible selection of metalwork robots were displayed at a trade show in Bangkok, Thailand, this week.

Footage from the Metalex Fair shows futuristic innovations from dozens of different manufacturers, who are pushing the frontiers of robot automation in the workplace.

The machines in this year's exhibition included robot tools for laser cutting, polishing, parts picking, and machines for heavy lifting. All of them can replace humans on the factory production line.

Metalex has been holding the exhibit for 34 years with the majority of participants coming from neighbouring Asian countries including Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore.

The event is mostly attended by manufacturers, importers, traders and retailers who are looking for innovations in the metalworking industry.

This year's exhibition was open from November 18 to 21 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

The organisers said: ''METALEX 2020 will pave the way to sustainable successes in the imminent 4.0 era for the region’s metalworking industry. The show will open up new horizons in metalworking excellence and growth through over 4,800 items of new machine tools, metalworking solutions, sheet metal forming innovations, and many other metalworking technologies by 4,000 brands from 50 countries as well as many other exciting smart new features, contents, and business opportunities that will take your business to the next level. METALEX will be your smart gateway that will enable you to tap into the demanding ASEAN market in the most efficient and effective way.''
