Bangkok protest against rumoured possible military coup
Anti-government protesters in Bangkok, Thailand, held a protest on Friday 27 November to oppose the possibility of a military coup.
The protest blocked a major junction in what some described as preparation for what to do in the event of a military takeover, which has been rumoured to be coming.
Despite recent arrests, some of them under the country's draconian lese majeste laws, leaders of the protest movement continue to be critical of the government and the monarchy.
The current Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, himself gained power in a coup in 2014, arguing that the country needed order after months of protests.
One pro-government supporter was seen in the middle of the protest, angering demonstrators, who booed her and chanted for her to leave.
