Inflatable rubber ducks - a symbol of Thailand's anti-government protests - made an appearance at a rally in Bangkok on Friday (27 November).

The protest was organised to oppose a rumoured military coup. It blocked a major junction in what some described as a drill for what to do in the event of a military takeover.

Despite recent arrests, some of them under the country's draconian lese majeste laws, leaders of the protest movement continue to be critical of the government and the monarchy.

The current Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, himself gained power in a coup in 2014, arguing the country needed order after months of unrest.

One pro-government supporter was seen in the middle of the protest, angering demonstrators, who booed her and chanted for her to leave.
