Thousands of Thai protesters carried inflatable yellow ducks during anti-establishment rallies in Bangkok on Sunday evening (November 29)

The demonstrators have adopted the mascot as a symbol of the movement after inflatable ducks were used as shields against water cannons fired by police.

Earlier in the day, protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the 11th Infantry Regiment.

The army was put under the command of Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn in 2019. Activists claim it has taken a role in politics.

Activists are concerned about rumours of a possible military coup.

Thousands of anti-establishment protests have taken place across Thailand in 2020, beginning at schools and universities.

Activists are calling for sweeping reforms including a new constitution, the resignation of the prime minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha and reform of the monarchy.
