Thai hawkers turn anti-government protests into duck-themed sales opportunity
Thailand's famously entrepreneurial street vendors have spotted a duck-shaped business opportunity in the country's anti-government protests.
Yellow ducks - large and inflatable or small and wearable - have become a must-have mascot for anti-establishment protesters.
The demonstrators adopted the rubber duck as a symbol of the movement after inflatable ducks were used as shields against water cannons fired by police.
Now hawkers sell duck-themed merchandise of all kinds in areas where protests are being held.
Bangkok's street food merchants have also been quick to cash in, often arriving at protest sites before protesters themselves.
