A barista robot in Thailand can operate coffee-machines to prepare drinks for cafe customers.

The 'Robosta' waiter was one of the machines displayed at the Metalex Fair in Bangkok which lasted from November 18 to 21.

It is attached to a counter where it uses long metal arms to reach for the supplies.

The robot first takes a cup sized according to the customer's order. It then fills it with coffee, ice, vanilla, chocolate, and other ingredients depending on what flavour of coffee was ordered.

Customers can select their orders online using an app which the robot receives. It will then start preparing the coffee after payment has been confirmed.

Metalex has been holding the exhibit for 34 years now with majority of participants coming from Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore.

The exhibit is attended by manufacturers, importers, traders and retailers who are looking for new innovations to help automate business processes.
