Bizarre CCTV footage has emerged from China of pigs running loose around a highway toll booth following a crash - causing hours of disruption.

In the footage, captured in Jiangsu Province in late January, policemen can be seen chasing and catching dozens of live pigs while others didn't make it and died in the road.

According to local reports, the truck was carrying 93 pigs - over 20 of which were killed or seriously injured. The three human crash victims have, however, reportedly escaped injury.

The road was closed for six hours before returning to normal while the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
