Master chocolatier Justo Almendrote created the world's longest turron, a chocolate and almond nougat, in Madrid on December 4.

Footage shows the colossal 50-metre-long (164 ft) confection that took nine hours to make, using 200 kilos of chocolate, 90 kilos of almond and 100 litres of cream.

The record-breaking sweet treat will be cut up into thousands of pieces and dished out to the public with all proceeds going to charity.

Turron is a typical Spanish sweet consumed at Christmas.

The master chocolatier Justo Almendrote, of Spain's oldest chocolate factory La Colonial, has made the world's largest chocolate almond nougat, named in Spanish "Turron", with 50 meter in length (164 foot). Two hundred kilos of chocolate, 100 liters of cream, 90 kilos of almonds and 9 hours to make it, which will be cut into thousands of tablets, will be sold to the public and the proceeds will go to social purposes of the Fundación Esperanza y Alegria. "Turron" is a typical Christmas sweet very consumed in Spain.
