This is the astonishing moment a tiny car was seen overloaded with a huge lorry cabin strapped to its roof.

The beaten-up old Lada was making good use of the classic 'roof rack' - which would normally only hold bikes or picnic hampers - while pulling away from a junction in Tbilisi, Georgia, on November 25.

Footage shows how the white 1980s car was terrifyingly overloaded with a white cabin from an articulated lorry, which was teetering precariously to the left.

The driver and passenger were sitting in the front seats, hoping for the best, as fellow road users watched nervously, afraid that the vehicle part could fall off onto them.

Shocked onlooker Lenan Gagnize, 65, was driving with his wife when he saw the hazard, which ''amazed and scared'' him. The cabin was dwarfing the car below.

Lenan believes that the pair inside the car had collected the cabin from a nearby scrapyard and were taking it home.

He said: ''I think his wife might have been shocked when he arrived home with that.

''Perhaps in a heated moment, he thought it was a good idea to buy.

''He may have a use for the old lorry, but it was a dangerous way of transporting it home.''
