Police in Nottinghamshire, England, were forced to disperse attendees of a car enthusiast meet-up in the area of Hucknall on December 6.

The event attracted hundreds of people who formed crowds to watch the display of tuned vehicles, less than 24 hours after Nottingham's Christmas market was closed down for being too crowded.

Footage shows the meet-up close to a large Tesco supermarket where cars were seen driving up and down the road and onlookers gathered on pavements, despite the organiser claiming it was "drive-in" event.

Cars were also seen performing burnouts, while loud pops and bangs were heard.

Police officers parked their vehicles at the entrance of the supermarket to prevent any further people arriving.

Nottinghamshire police were forced the break up a car meet on the 06/12/2020 less than 24 hours after the cities Christmas market was closed down due to large crowds attending it.

The car meet attracted 100s of people and cars who were seen driving recklessly. Despite the organiser insisting the event would be a drive in event only and asking people to stay in cars, crowds were seen packed together as they watched cars perform burnouts and pops and bangs.

The event started at 19:45 and police arrived around 20:30 to shut the event down. Police parked their car at the entrance to the Hucknall Tesco to prevent anyone else arriving.
