This Australian attempted to break the Rubik's Cube mile world record which involved him solving four cubes during the challenge.

David Pearce filmed his record attempt in Brisbane which saw him run four laps of a 400-metre track and complete a Rubik's Cube every time he reached the start.

Pearce told Newsflare: "I first learned to solve a Rubik’s Cube as an 11-year-old as I was intrigued by an older boy who could solve it in 45 seconds.

"I began competing in cube competitions interstate by age 13. I now average 8.5 seconds for solving the cube.

"I began taking up distance running at around the same age as cubing and have trained every year ever since, first reaching national level as a 16-year-old."

The puzzle enthusiast has accumulated eight gold medals for winning various Rubik's Cube related challenges.

Pearce ran his Rubik's Cube mile record attempt in 5:26.57, the current record-holder is Isaac Wappes with a time of 5:37.53.
