Police seized assets worth over Rs 1 crore (USD 135841) following a raid at an illegally operating casino in central India's Madhya Pradesh on December 7. The seizure took place in Betul's Pardhi Dhana neighbourhood.

Visuals show the retrieved assets placed on a table during a press conference held by the police department. 17 pistols, 8 kg (17 lbs) worth of cannabis and cash worth Rs 3.41 lakh (USD 4635) can be seen laid out. Three cars, along with 18 two-wheelers can also be seen lined up after the seizure.

Betul Superintendent of Police (SP) Simala Prasad stated that the gambling house was operating in the heart of the city. The police department conducted the raid that was being planned for the last several days. It led to the arrest of 27 people who were caught gambling red-handed. Over 100 litres of raw alcohol and eight mobile phones were also seized in the raid.

However, the operator of the illegal casino, Alsaya Pardi, got away and could not be nabbed. Along with the raid, a house built in the name of Pardi's wife is also being investigated. He has a total of eight criminal cases filed against him.
