Fireworks were set off across Lyon as residents took part in the annual Festival of Lights on December 8.
The religious festival is an annual tradition where partakers express their gratitude towards Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Residents will place candles outside all their windows as well as temporary light installations set up across the city.
