Huge lizard rescued after getting trapped in homeowner's drain in Indonesia

This was the moment a one-metre-long lizard was rescued by members of the fire brigade from a tight drainpipe in East Jakarta on December 9.

Footage shows the confined rescue mission where firefighters managed to remove the part of the drain hosting the reptile from the wall.

They are then seen writhing at the pipe in the hope it will release the five-kilogram animal.

Eventually, the lizard was taken to the fire department's headquarters then released into the wild.
