Customs official seize gold worth $ 80066 concealed in aircraft Tamil Nadu
In south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, customs officials recovered gold worth over $ 80066 weighing 2.53 lbs ( 1.15 Kilograms) concealed inside an aircraft at Chennai International Airport on December 9.
Recovered gold from the aircraft is displayed on the table from further investigation.
On rummaging the aircraft Emirates Flight EK 544 which arrived from Dubai the officials found two packets wrapped with black adhesive tape from beneath a cushion of one seat.
The officials found gold paste of 24 Carat purity gold in both the packets and the gold was seized by the officials under Customs Act.
