This is the heartwarming moment a couple pulled out a long series coloured tapes from a cake in a suspenseful gender reveal.

Father-to-be Gerber Butac, 33, and wife Meann, 28, held the gender reveal party in their home in Laguna province, the Philippines on December 5.

Footage shows the couple pulling the extensive tape from the cake, which had a series of messages scrawled section.

Their friends and family members were heard excitedly screaming in the background as the tape changes from blue to pink colours, signifying male and female genders respectively.

When the couple has reached to the end of the tape, it was revealed that the couple are expecting a baby boy.

Gerber was seen jumping in excitement as he had always wanted to have a baby boy since they married.

He said: "We were dating for four years before we decided to get married. I always wanted to have a son."

Their friends planned the surprise party for them since the couple wanted to share the moment with their loved ones.

One of their loving friends, Ivy Salon, said they all helped making the DIY cake and purposely made it long for the couple.

Ivy said: "We wish the baby will grow up to be a healthy, kind, and a God-fearing person. I'm sure my friends will become great parents."
