An alert Railway Police Force constable came to the rescue of a woman who fell on the railway tracks of western India's Maharashtra on December 10. The incident took place in Sandhurst Road Station of Mumbai

Visuals show a woman standing close to the tracks on the platform falling down after feeling dizzy. The police constable immediately springs into action and brings her back on the platform before the train arrives.

Copassengers standing on the platform can be seen waving their hands towards the arriving train, signalling it to slow down. Soon a crowd gathers around the woman after she is brought up to the platform.

The incident took place when the train was just at a distance of a few meters from the platform. The constable risked his own life and jumped on the tracks to bring the woman to safety.

The rescued woman has been identified as Aneesha Shaikh aged 23. The police constable who rescued the woman was identified as Shyam Surat, whose vigilance saved the life of the young lady.
