Pink and Grey Cockatoo (Galah) parents get no relief from their noisy, begging chicks

Beautiful Pink and Grey cockatoos, also called Galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla) are common and widespread and have colonised the coastal plain around Peel Inlet and Harvey Estuary south of Perth in Western Australia since the 1970s as the climate has dried. This Galah pair with their two begging chicks was perching in a Marri tree (Corymbia calophylla) edge of Peel Inlet at Coodanup in Western Australia. The chicks never ceased their incessant begging – the brown-eyed female (at the rear) fed one of the chicks, but the dark-eyed male in the foreground lunged at the chick begging from him.
