A woman from York, UK, wanted to spread some early Christmas cheer and hired a traditional brass band to play for her neighbours.

The clip, filmed on December 12 on Station Road, shows the band called "New York Brass Band" playing the Christmas classic "Fairytale of New York" as neighbours watch on.

The filmer Joe told Newsflare: "My sister hired a band to play for the whole neighbourhood. She hired them to cheer up the neighbourhood and also raise some money for the local food bank - they made over £150!"

All the money went to a York food bank - the band are called New York Brass Band and are based in York, UK - they play Glastonbury festival too.
