Anticipated Misa de Gallo is celebrated inside a mall in Iligan City where church-goers wears facemask, faceshield and observing social distancing.
Misa de Gallo, which means “Mass of the Rooster,” was a tradition introduced by Spanish friars in the 17th century to agricultural communities so that farmers could attend Mass before heading off to the fields early in the morning.
It is a Filipino tradition which happens 9 days before Christmas and starts every dawn of December 16 yearly. But due to curfew, the Holy Mass was celebrated one day ahead at 6pm on December 15, 2020.
