An elusive civet cat and her two babies had to be removed from a car showroom in Pune, western India.

Saidas Kusal was called by employees at the showroom after they were fed up of finding food leftover by the wild animal. They also feared for their safety after several vicious encounters with the civet cat.

Kusal managed to grab the animals one by one and put them into a cage before releasing them into a nearby forest.

He said: "They have powerful claws and desperately clutched on to whatever they could find. I had to use just the right amount of force to remove them without causing any injury.

"I was careful and held them at an arm’s distance as they could have hurt me as well."

A civet cat gave birth to two babies inside a car showroom in Pune in western India and started raising them inside.

Civet cats are wild animals and it is extremely rare to find them so close to human habitats. But the abundant junk at the back of the showroom gave enough room for the mother and her babies to thrive.

The showroom staff were fed up of finding leftovers of rodents and other dirt inside their premises. The occasional encounters with the ferocious cats also made them fear for their safety. After making several attempts to get rid of them they called animal rescuer Saidas Kusal.

Saidas traced the location of the cats and caught them one by one by grabbing the animals by their tail. They were all put in a cage and then released in a nearby forest.

Saidas said: “They have powerful claws and desperately clutched on to whatever they could find. I had to use just the right amount of force to remove them without causing any injury.”
