Firemen rescue two trapped dogs from burning house in Thailand
Brave firemen saved two dogs that were trapped inside a burning house in Thailand.
Wattana Janjaroen, 33, saw thick black smoke coming from a neighbour's house in Buriram province on December 13.
She immediately called the firefighters for help and told them about hearing dogs whimpering inside.
The team broke through the back door to check if anyone was inside before finding two trapped pet dogs struggling to breathe through the smoke.
No one else was inside the house as the owner, Monchai Pantuwong, was at work when the fire broke out.
They let the two dogs out before proceeding to put out the fire which did not spread quickly as the house was made of concrete.
Medics gave the dogs a health check before feeding them with food and water. They were uninjured by the fire.
Monchai was notified by the firefighting team and rushed home to check on her pets and the house before thanking the rescuers.
Local official Udom Kamchalee from Mueng District said the blaze may have been caused by a fish tank plug that short-circuited after over-heating.
He said: "The fish tank was always plugged in for the oxygen. The initial investigations show that it overheated and short-circuited.
The fire was contained on the first floor after almost half an hour and did not reach the upper floor.
