This is the shocking moment a loose horse rampaged through a street and crashed into a house in Brazil.

The panicked stallion escaped from a ranch and was galloping around the neighbourhood in Rio Grande do Sul on December 4.

It was bolting downhill but noticed too late that it had reached the end of the street.

It tried to slow down by raising its front limbs and skidding on its hoofs on the concrete road but it still slammed onto the wall. However, it picked itself up and trotted away, appearing unharmed by the collision.

Shocked resident Micheli Souza said she was in her home at the time when she heard a loud bang from below.

She said: "When I heard the loud noise I immediately went out but I did not catch the horse so I thought of watching our CCTV to see what had happened.

"I felt bad about the accident but it was also a bit funny because our wall was big and visible but he still crashed onto it."

Micheli added that the horse was eventually able to return to the ranch with the help of the residents.
