Japan: Vehicles Stranded On Highways For Close To A Day Due To Record Snow On Japan Sea Side 2
A cold air mass brought record snow to the Japan Sea side since Wednesday and stranded thousands of vehicles on roads and highways for close to a day in some cases.
From the northernmost island of Hokkaido to Tohoku and Chugoku regions, towns were buried in deep snow and paralyzed traffic on highways, stranding trucks and private vehicles. Although snowfall has weakened, heavy snow is still expected to relapse from Thursday evening.
