Customs officials seize Gold, Iphones, Supplements, Cigarettes and foreign currency worth USD 328250 in India

Smuggled goods worth over USD 328250 ( Rs 2.5 crore approx) was seized by airport custom officials at Chennai International Airport in Tamil of Southern India.

The seizure took place on December 16.

Visuals show, gold hidden being removed from a set wrist watches, jeans pants and the seized supplements, cigarette cartons, Iphones and foreign currencies being recovered.

The gold paste was removed from jeans pants that were stitched inside to avoid checking.

As per the reports, seven have been arrested under the Customs Act for smuggling gold pastes, gold chains, health supplements, Iphones and cigarette cartons.

All the arrested are said to have arrived at Chennai from Dubai by different flights.

Further investigation is under process.
