A seafood restaurant in Thailand created a unique Christmas tree using recycled steel barbecue pans.

The cookware was fixed to a post to imitate the shape of a tree and decorated with bright lights in front of Pungto Mookata restaurant in Nakhon Sawan province.

Staff lit up the colourful bulbs on December 12 to welcome guests who come for their speciality seafood barbecue and various dishes.

The three-metre-high silver tree is made up of 100 barbecue pans which they also used in preparing food for the customers.

A large huggable stuffed bear was placed at the bottom of the tree next to boxed gifts used as decoration.

Ajaree Wuthipanyarattanakul and Parisara Watkaew, proud owners of the eatery, said they wanted to create something special for the customers so their experience becomes memorable when they dine.

Parisara said: "We wanted it to be like a landmark where people can check-in with their phones and take unique photos as souvenirs."

Aside from the seafood dishes, customers can order pork and other meat barbecues all for 189 Baht or a little less than 5 GBP.
