This intense moment was captured in Anchorage, Alaska when a brave man has an incredibly close call with a charging moose on December 1, 2020.

David DeVine was out for a stroll with a tenant in his cabin when they came across the moose at a standstill in the middle of the road. After initially waiting for the moose to wander back into the woods, they decided to walk through the deep snow off the side of the road. With two cars approaching, the moose started walking towards them before proceeding into a full charge.

Realizing that turning his back would only result in him being trampled, David instinctively moved to face the moose while also trying to get out of the deep snow. Luckily, the moose veered off to the left after coming within five feet of David and headed back into the woods.

"We came across the moose in the video at a stand-off, waiting for the moose to wander into the woods and let us continue walking up the road," David said. "I decided to walk through the deep snow off to the side of the road opposite the moose in attempts to get past."

"There were two cars coming down Nickleen towards us, and when the first car came close to us the moose decided to turn around and walk towards us. The moose then started running towards us and I didn't think it would do much good to turn my back to the moose and be trampled so I ran towards the road to try to get out of the deep snow and onto more solid footing."

"If that moose was going to trample us, he'd have to do it head-on! The moose probably came within five feet of me before dodging to the left. It was pretty exciting!”
