Buffalo rescued by police officials from deep pit in central India

A buffalo calf rescued from the deep pit it fell into in central India’s Madhya Pradesh on December 16.

The incident took place in the Makronia town of Sagar district. A video witnessing the incident features a calf being pulled from a tank using ropes with the help of excavator. 

The buffalo was being rescued by the local police and the civic bodies of Makronia after it accidentally fell into the pit dug for the purpose of a water tank.

On hearing its cries, locals alerted  Makronia police who rushed to the spot to rescue the animal.

The rescue operation continued for over two hours in the dark of the night and the baby buffalo was rescued safely.
