Python removed from the car engine while in-house parking at Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) in Indonesia.

In footage filmed in Padangpariaman, West Sumatra province, showing parking attendants trying to remove python from inside one of the cars in airports in-house parking area.

The snake, which is about five meters-long, tries to survive and fight by wrapping its body around the car engine.

The parking attendant said that the discovery of the python began when the car owner failed to start the engine. "Car owner opened the hood to check engine failure, he was surprised to see a huge snake wrapped around the engine," said the parking attendant, adding that the car had been parked for 5 days.

The discovery of the snake in the car is the first to happen. Acting Executive General Manager of Angkasa Pura II-BIM, Agustiawarman, said the snakes were thought to have come from a swamp and thicket near the parking area that was being cleared for development project.

Airport officer hopes that the same incident will not happen again after the project is completed. Meanwhile, the captured pythons are put in a sack to be handed over to the reptile lover group.

Footage filmed before the COVID-19 pandemic on February 19, 2020.
