Gift-wrapped dad: Military father gets his daughter the best Hanukkah gift of all
This is the heartwarming moment a military father emerged from a gift-wrapped box to surprise his daughter in Virginia Beach, Virginia on December 10.
After two opportunities to visit home were cancelled due to Covid-19, Adam finally returned home after a 14-month deployment in Afghanistan. His daughter, Abby, was under the impression that he would not be able to come home until after the holidays. The touching surprise was staged while Abby was at school, and she was told she had a big surprise waiting for her on the way home.
Speaking about the video Lisa Walker said: “My husband recently returned home from a 14-month deployment in Afghanistan. Due to COVID-19, his two opportunities to come home during that time period were canceled. We told our daughter that he would be returning home after the holidays, but when it got pushed up earlier than expected, we thought it would be fun to surprise her, after a rough year for us all. He planned it so he could come home for the first day of Hanukkah, and arrived home that afternoon while she was at school.”
