Buildings shake as 4.9-magnitude earthquake hits the Philippines
Buildings shook as a 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines in the early morning of Tuesday (December 22).
CCTV footage from inside a property in the town of Infanta in Quezon province shows a building rocking on its foundations and items falling from shelves in a shop.
Residents in the capital Manila were woken up shortly after 2 pm when their homes started to shake. One resident said the tremors ''lasted about five seconds."
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the 4.9-magnitude quake was located 20 kilometres north and 45 degrees west of General Nakar. It struck the place at 2:14 am local time.
