Truck drivers in Dover, Kent voice their frustration at France's freight ban leaving them stranded as Christmas approaches.

One driver stated that he'll be spending the holiday season driving his truck: "For me, Christmas is here." The same driver also pointed out where his truck had been damaged by passersby.

Another explained: "'We don't have food, we don't have water. We don't sleep, we sleep for 5 minutes. For us Christmas is done, here is Christmas."

More than 1,500 lorries are stuck near the port of Dover on England's southeast coast after France banned hauliers from Britain for 48 hours over the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus in the UK.

"Our children are waiting for us, they want papa to be home at Christmas," one man said from the window of his truck.

This footage was filmed on December 22.
