This is the amazing moment a skilful female snake catcher rescued a deadly cobra stuck in a casserole pot handle in Thailand.

The hapless reptile was hunting rats at a junkyard in Chonburi province when it was found stuck in the metal handle in the steel pot on December 20.

The yard owner called the animal rescuers for help as it would be dangerous for the workers to handle the highly venomous animal by themselves.

Rescue volunteer Kamonwan Thondaeng, 36, led the team and began taming the venomous reptile so they could free it from the saucepan with the least possible contact.

Footage shows Kamonwan carefully pinning down the snake using a rod with a hook so they can remove its body from the handle without hurting it.

The aggressive cobra snapped at the team a few times while they were trying to secure its head.

They tried to distract it by waving a towel on the side as cobras are sensitive to movements.

Eventually, the professional handlers were able to cut the steel handle using a bolt cutter while the snake is pinned down on the ground using a rod.

They placed the snake inside a sack before thanking the shop owner for calling them instead of trying to handle it by themselves.

Kamonwan said: "I learned the knowledge of how to catch snakes from Snake Wrangler Minburi group so I am not scared."

She also warned people who don't know how to catch snakes to call rescuers because it can be fatal trying to catch snakes by themselves without proper training.

She said: "When we catch cobras, they are used to make serum using the venom secreted on their fangs which can help people who are bitten by snakes survive."
