A San Diego man has pranked his brother-in-law this year by wrapping a tiny gift and placing it within many larger boxes ahead of Christmas day.

Footage from December 22 shows filmer Tim wrapping a tiny gift then packing the gift within at least six consecutively larger boxes.

Tim told Newsflare: "My brother-in-law has wanted a pair of headphones for a while but would never spend the money on himself.

"I decided to make him work a little bit for his Christmas gift."

To add to the Christmas day challenge for his brother-in-law, Tim humorously adds tissue paper and bubble wrap.

"The boxes are from over the year.

"[The] tape I've had for years. The tissue paper is old tissue paper from other gifts and about 5 newer sheets from previous years.

"So I spent $2.50 if you don't count the bows in the price," he said online.

We just hope all those boxes and wrapping paper got recycled!
