Deeply distressing footage reveals carer abusing elderly man in China
Video has emerged from China of a carer beating an elderly person they should have been looking after.
In CCTV footage captured in Inner Mongolia, a carer beats an elderly person in his own home repeatedly with a stick.
It’s reported that the 77 year-old's grandchildren discovered the abuse out and reported it to the police. After an investigation, it’s understood that the carer beat the man three to five times a day, even stuffing used diapers into the old man’s mouth. The man suffered bruising inside his mouth and fractures to the hand, according to reports.
The video has caused outrage in China on social media and people are criticising the caretaker.
The carer has been detained and the case remains under investigation.
The video was filmed on October 20 and provided by local media.
