A man was found fatally stabbed in Hemet, California, in the early hours of Monday (December 28).

At about 1 am, Hemet Fire Department responded to reports of a stabbing victim at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Carmelita Street.

Arriving crews located a victim stabbed multiple times in the torso. The victim was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Minutes prior to the stabbing, the police department received a call about a disturbance in the area. It's unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.

It's possible that the victim was at a gathering, possibly a party, where a large group began fighting in the street.

Florida Ave from Harvard St to Carmelita St will be shut down in both directions of travel pending investigation. At this time, no suspect information is available.
